About Us

Started in 1982, Ocean State Forklifts began in a garage in Rhode Island with about six employees, hence the name, Ocean State Forklifts.  We grew quickly, and by 1984, we’d moved to our current location in Seekonk, MA. Today, Ocean State Forklifts is a family-owned business run by Douglas O’Brien Jr. (Son of Douglas O’Brien Sr., one of three original partners, who later became sole owner). Now, we have 22 employees and are one of the largest used equipment companies in the area. Whether you need to purchase, lease, or rent, Ocean State Forklifts has a large selection of new truck inventory. Our fleet of fully stocked service trucks provides both regular maintenance and repair to businesses throughout Rhode Island, Southeastern Massachusetts, and Cape Cod.
